How to Beat Metabolic Syndrome Naturally
Metabolic syndrome (MetS) is a combination of the risk factors such as:
✓ A large waistline or abdominal obesity
✓ A high triglyceride level found in the blood
✓ A low HDL and high LDL cholesterol levels
✓ High blood pressure (hypertension)
✓ Increased or high blood glucose levels
If you experience at least three of the risk factors above you might be at the highest MetS risk or you already have it. In the UK up to 15 million people are affected by this syndrome which is about one in four adults.
I think you might be surprised that children can also have MetS (1, 2). With the rising obesity epidemic among children, they’re getting these problematic health conditions earlier than ever before. Perhaps it is something that parents should start to consider to diminish the chances of developing MetS or the risk factors that may lead to it.
Who needs this programme
If you or your children are overweight with signs of insulin resistance, increased blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar levels or maybe there is just a risk of developing these symptoms, then this programme would a good start to a Healthier You or your Child. Keeping all of the above signs of MetS within the normal range may help to decrease the risk of heart disease, stroke and blood vessel disease.
