Homemade Raw Vegan Hot Chilli Sauce
If you want a healthier choice of sauces, then make your own! It is a good way to start to avoid unhealthy excess fat, sugar, salt, preservatives, colours and flavour enhancers which are under the strange, long chemical names and code numbers. I don’t think you will be happy eating food that can be kept in the cupboard for ages.
Do you remember that we love our body and would like to give the best to it?
You can do two versions of this recipe: red, using red jalapenos/chillies, or green – with green jalapenos.
Ingredients
✓ 3 cups of chopped spicy peppers/chilli
✓ 2 x 400g tins whole tomatoes – the better the quality, the better the flavour
✓ 1 teaspoon of salt (I use Himalayan Pink salt)
✓ Juice of 1/2 of a lemon
✓ 4-7 garlic cloves or to your liking
✓ Half of a bell pepper (use the right colour for your colour version)
✓ 1 red onion
✓ 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
✓ 50 ml of apple cider vinegar
✓ Half of bunch of herbs of your choice or you can mix them if you like (oregano, cilantro, mint, parsley etc.)
Instructions
Blend all ingredients until smooth. Store in the fridge. This keeps for about a week. Enjoy!
p.s. You always can alter the ingredients and their amounts thus adjusting to your taste.
